This just sucks...I am such a fan of thongs on both women and on myself, as I find them so comfortable and think they look really great...I've been wearing them for about a year...

Now, I was going to buy some new thongs, and none of the places I used to buy them from carry them any longer!!!

I know you can order thongs from some of the higher end men's specialty stores, but I liked the basic ones, the 4 or 5 packs of cotton thongs from Fruit of the Loom, Joe Boxer, and my personal favorite, the Merona line from Target.

Target Merona- Not only no longer in stock at my local Target, but I cant even get a target rep (Merona is a target company) to confirm they exist any longer.

Fruit of the Loom- They made a 5 pack....cant find them anymore, they appear out of production

Joe Boxer- Wasnt a big fan of these, but the one store i know that sold them doesnt any more.

I'm actually really bumming...as men's thongs were finally starting to become more mainstream about 2 years ago, and now it seems, yet again, thong wearers are being exiled to obscurity.

Has anyone noticed this trend? any hope it may reverse itself at some point?

Replied to this above, but here it is again:

I imagine the thongs for the general buying public are not popular enough (don't sell enough) so corporate decisions came down.

I've bought a few thongs at TJ Maxx - from 2(x)ist and RIPS -- black or white, cotton, and a good price compared to full retail. But they're not on the shelves there frequently.

The other source I've used is online ordering from undies and jock sites -- but then that's not the "basic" ones you've mentioned, and you'll probably pay more per piece than the 4 or 5-packs you've been used to.

Sorry I'm no help -- just some observations from me.

Hi,

Giggleberries.co.uk to the rescue. We sell a large range of men's thongs and g-strings and they remain one of our best sellers. About 40% of our sales are thongs and 40% trunks with only a small amount of briefs.

We offer FREE world wide delivery.

Our largest collection of thongs is by HOM Fashion , a very high quality and popular designer brand of French underwear.

Happy shopping.

I've noticed this as well--styles are tending toward non-thongs these days in many brands (excluding the old standbys from Europe, e.g. HOM and others). Even the Undergear catalogue has fewer, I think...their swimwear range usually has at least one or two, but I don't recall any this past year, and certainly not any new ones.

As I'm wearing one of my favorite (and most expensive) thongs at the moment, though, it isn't as if I have a vested interest in these matters or anything! Smiler
