Sorry for the delay in new posts. Life has been hectic and I can now finally work at posting new topics for us all to discuss. One of my best friends from high school is now a high school teacher. Although he is a history and spanish teacher, he helps out with football and weight lifting activities. While having a beer together the other night, he told me about how high school has changed in the 10 years since we attended. He told me that some guys wear tighty whities the first gym class and realize that the other guys their age have switched to boxers. Even though they are obviously not comfortable wearing boxers, they do it anyway in efforts to avoid locker room ridicule. Some guys don't care and wear what they find to be most comfortable. My buddy and I both didn't conform to the boxers standard the guys in our high school locker room had set. Sure we were teased a bit, but it didn't matter. Many of our friends who we saw wearing tighty whities pre-high school suddenly changed to boxers without cause. How many of you out there were high school underwear conformists and how many of you didn't care what others thought and wore the kind of underwear you felt most comfortable in? No matter what you answer you will not be judged. But I know for a fact that guys who made the switch from briefs to boxers in high school switched back since then. Let us know what your underwear wearing philosophy was in high school.

A variation on one of your previous posts/discussions. Fair enough!

Throughout high school, I wore tighty whities. No one ever really saw them, either, or gave me a bad time about it, because I didn't have P.E. classes. I was hearing all about guys switching to boxers and saying how much better they were, but I didn't really care. And as it was never really an issue, it just wasn't a major factor for me. (Though I did constantly ogle guys in catalogs and such who had much more "interesting" underwear, that was not tighty whities nor boxers!)

However, on a few occasions I rather got lucky--actually, this would have been in perhaps 8th or 9th grade, so not quite high school (both grades were in junior high where I lived). One Christmas, the next door neighbors got me and my older brother "something useful," i.e. a pair of socks and a one-pack of Jockey grey briefs. Hawt! I wore those ones into the ground, and they were my favorites for several years; I pre-came the first time I wore them (and if I find I really am turned on by whatever new underwear it is I happen to be trying, the same happens even today!). I also engineered something on an out-of-town trip once, and conveniently "forgot" to pack enough underwear, so we had to go to the store and get some more, and the only one-packs they had were Jockey, so I ended up getting another (this time black). Even HAWTer!

But beyond those two beloved briefs, it was tighty whities all the way down for the entirety of my high school days. It was not until second semester of my first year in college that I started getting other things, and by my first semester of sophomore year, I got rid of all my tighty whities, and have never gone back since. (Though the occasional white brief does make its way through my rotation...just not like the ones I wore back then...much better, nicer, sexier, and more expensive ones!)

Back when I was in high school (which was in the early 90's) briefs and bikinis were the way to go. There were only one or two guys who wore boxers, and the rest of us wore bikinis or briefs. We didn't have much choice because in Grade 9, our gym strip included short-shorts, so boxers would have hung out the bottom.
Guys wore tighty whities, coloured bikinis, patterned bikinis, even tangas. No one thought much of it (even when the colours were bright).

'twas good times!

When I was in jr high, high school and college, the de-facto uniform was Jockey briefs, crew neck tee's and Levis 501 blue jeans. We had nearly no boxers and only a few Hanes and Sears briefs.

We lived in a more affluent area in Southern California. This was in the 1950's, briefs ruled.

When I was in high school (5 years ago) almost no one wore briefs, only boxer briefs (the most common) or boxers. No one said much about underwear, but no one dared to wear anything much skimpier than boxer briefs. You would see the odd brief, but not very often. Once, I noticed someone wore a speedo under their swim shorts when we were changing in the change room. That was hot. I definately wore briefs until around junior high/first year of high school when I switched entirely to boxer briefs and I also had a few pairs of boxers. However I could never really get used to the loose feeling and always hated the bunching up on the legs. On hot summer days when school was not in session I definately would throw on an old pair of briefs. Today five years later, one year after graduating from college I would say I've switched back to briefs almost entirely, but more expensive than the ones I wore in grade school. I would say I wear boxer briefs 30% of the time and briefs 70%.
